Khourosh Kanani Quartet
(2 x guitars, violin, double bass)
Khourosh is one of the new breed of technically superb jazz swing guitarists who’s making waves on the London scene. He was born and bred in Leeds and trained at the university there. However, he had been playing and ‘studying’ music for several years before that. The product of a very musical family, Khourosh (his father is Iranian and mother Irish) was absorbing jazz from an early age, listening to recordings of Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins and many other legendary guitarist – some of that has obviously stuck and he’s added his own very unique style to create a fiery, powerful sound that is reminiscent of the great Django Reinhardt. With Ben Holder on violin, Caley Groves on rhythm guitar and the Mike Green on double bass, we’re looking forward to a fabulous night of swing jazz – Paris hot club style!
Show starts 8pm.
